A school vacation, a rainy day or just because...Wooden Toys and Crafts is open for walk-ins seven days a week. Come in and build a creative, classic wooden toy, paint it and make a mess!
All our toys come in do-it-yourself kits, or choose wooden shapes (which are sold by the pound) and use your imagination and create. Kids and adults alike can choose from a variety of unique, functional projects like boats, planes, cars, doll beds, peg animals, etc.
Average price runs about $10 including paint.
The next time a special occasion or meeting comes along let us do the work.
We are a great choice for birthday parties, scout outings, school field trips and other special events. Come experience the fun and art of toy making.
PARTIES
Give us a call or stop in to reserve your date today. Parties run 1 ˝ hours (Over 10 Children) 1 hour (for under 10 children) and are priced based on the projects and paints (i.e. $8.00 project and $2.00 painting). 2 weeks before the party you will need to come in and pick out up to 2 projects to be created the day of the party.
If party is for 3 and 4 year olds, each child attending must have an adult with them to help with project. (This is due to insurance reasons).
SCOUT PROGRAMS
Scout leaders give us a call to arrange a time and date for the troop/pack to come in and make a project you choose. Some popular items have been birdhouses, stools, tool boxes, and the ever popular pinewood derby cars.
SCHOOL PROGRAMS
Want to bring the class or camp to us? Wooden Toys will work with you to customize a program that meets both your objectives and your budget.
TOYS OF YESTERYEAR
In conjunction with colonial times, or just for fun students learn about how children entertained themselves prior to TV and video games! Through producing a handmade yo-yo, ball catch game, and/or old fashion star twist, children gain a first hand appreciation of toys of yesteryear.
ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES
We can tailor a project to any unit of study or interest area to suit the age, number, or cost you would like. (I.E. Wooden Dragons for study of Japan, Birds and Animals accompany life studies, birdhouses for construction and form, puppets for literature, and even an invention convention for creativity and links to the invention process.
